1. School Governors report:
Governors meeting being held this evening, therefore no report available.
Governors to set meeting dates for this year this evening, so dates do not clash in future.
Action: Julia to get dates for Governors meetings
2. PTA/Governors social event:
The Bell booked for 29th January for buffet and skittles. Annette has tickets for Governors this evening. Agreed invitation to extended to any School Staff, Ancillary and Teaching. Annette to have tickets available to these staff in office.
Last date for tickets 21st Jan, numbers to be confirmed 22nd Jan.
Action: Julia to liase with Annette and Yvonne re: final numbers
3. Valentines Disco:
Booked for 8th February. KS1 - 6.30 to 7.30, KS2 - 7.45 to 9pm
Action: Sue to send letter 1st February & print tickets
Sam to confirm DJ (Vaughan)
Tickets on sale Weds 6th (Sam & Anna) and Fri 8th (Yvonne & Sue)
Wayne to create cheque for DJ in advance & prepare float for Tuck shop
Anna to get sweets and squash and deliver on the night
Julia to ask if volunteers willing to help on night
Julia to check with Mark re: locking up at end of night
Sam to collect and count money
4. Eco-school:
Julia explained there is an Action Plan devised by the children for this project. Each class has their own topic / area to work on, co-ordinated by a Green Council. Ideas include solar panels, building a recycling centre at the school, water butts, and reflective jackets for a walking bus to school.
Fund raising will be needed but no clear idea as to how much is needed for which projects yet. PTA aim to link a sponsored event to this project.
5. Sponsored event:
Suggested sponsored “Textile Recycle”. Children can be sponsored per bag they are able to fill with textiles. These bags are collected and recycled, the School would receive 20p per kilo.
Action: Julia to get agreement from Mark to run event and discuss storage of bags in School House
Sue to do letter explaining task and sponsor form to go out 22nd May
Julia to obtain blue recycling bags to go with letters
Reminder note for 2nd June
Volunteers for Blue Bag and money collection on 4th June & 6th June
Plan for removal of bags from School on 7th June
6. Easter Bingo:
To use the bingo as fundraising event to apply for Barclays 2007 /08 matched funding. To be planned at next meeting
7. AOB:
7.1 Auction of Promises. Following discussion, to suggest this is part of Summer Fete to ensure it would not take business from the Fete.
Action: Wayne to take to Fete Committee
7.2 DVD of Dance Show. May be possible to raise extra money from this by selling DVD’s.
Action: Caroline to investigate possible businesses and costs
