Minutes

 

 

Present: Wayne Bull, Caroline Barnes, Anna Homer, Sue Glanfield

 

 

Apologies: Julia Thorpe

 

 

 

1. School Governors report:

 

            Due to full Governors meeting happening the same evening no Governor            was available to report.

 

 

2. School Representative Report:

 

            No representative present to report. Information from the School confirms             that the School would like the School Association to support becoming an    eco-school this year. No information currently available as to what and how   this support is needed. Information from School / Governors needed for     School Association to plan appropriate events, and to inform parents.

 

Action: Contact to be made with Governor re additional information.

 

 

3. Rainbow Fayre:

 

            Held last week; raised £428.94, similar amount of money as was  in raised           previous year. Letter gone to parents / children informing them of result.

 

 

4. Nativity:

 

            Discussed planned actions from last meeting and outstanding tasked to be          completed:

 

            Anna has relevant refreshments bought

 

            To borrow glasses from School for refreshments.

 

Action: Wayne to deliver refreshments to school on Tues 11th

 

            Wayne, Sue & Pam available to help on Tues 11th

 

            Wayne to get mince pies

 

            Anna to get serviettes and apple juice

 

            Wayne, Pam and ? Sophie to help on Weds 12th

 

White wine in fridge!

 

At end of Weds glasses to be washed and borrowed for Debbie’s Dance show at weekend

 

 

5. Christmas Parties:

 

            Disco is booked and tickets ready. Letter gone out today. Sweets bought and ready to be bagged up for Party 1. Discussed health option for Tuck Shop, to purchase bags / packets of fruit pieces. Help available for party 1, more help required for Parties 2 & 3, especially for security at doors.

 

Action: Sue to check with Michelle that Father Christmas is booked

 

Sue to check with Mark Smith about locking up after end of discos

 

Help for Parties 2& 3 to be requested when tickets purchased

 

Reminder: Tickets on sale  -   Fri 7th: Wayne/Jo/Julia

Weds 12th: Yvonne/Julia

 

 

 

 

6. Debbie’s Dance Show:

 

            Tickets to be on sale at same time as party tickets. PA / microphones          sorted out now. Help still needed for setting up / dismantling stage on the   day.

 

            Raffle prizes available from donations made on previous occasions.          Charity, Jo & Anna to do refreshments / raffle, to use up any refreshments   from Nativity.

 

            Caroline & Jeff available to help on the day, Wayne may be able to help.

 

            Discussion re: feasibility of recording the show and selling DVD versions in         future years. Depending on interest may be possible to contract this to a   professional company or do in-house.  quality may be issue & time           consuming to record each DVD individually.

 

            For next year: Caroline to look into DVD options in collaboration with        Debbie.

 

            To discuss with Debbie an earlier start time, as children all very tired by     the end and parents may be reluctant to help at end of performance as       needing to get children to bed.

 

Action: Wayne & Julia to find and provide the raffle prizes

 

Glasses and refreshments to Village Hall on Sunday 16th.

 

Caroline to get wine & flowers for Debbie

 

 

7. PTA /Governors Social event:

 

            The Bell and skittles booked for 29th January 2008. Governors have been given date. No decision made about buffet, need to be discussed at next meeting.

 

 

 

8. Sponsored Event for 2008:

 

            Had planned to do a sponsored event to tie in with the eco school project.             As no further information currently unavailable this need to be discussed at         next meeting, and suitable idea / time agreed.

 

 

9. Next correspondence:

 

            Letter in new year asking for unwanted presents for raffle prizes, reminder            about phones for schools, recommend card recycling fro woodland trust,          reminder of dates for remaining events for year. To combine with parents      questionnaire about ideas, possible sponsorship contacts, etc.

 

Action: Sue to check with Mark Smith it is ok to collect Christmas cards and put up posters at School for Woodland Trust (links with eco school)

 

Sue to check with Governors if any plans to do questionnaire, possibly combine forces.
