Dear Parents

As is customary in the run up to the end of the school year there will be a couple of occasions when we will be moving the children on to work with the teachers they will be taught by next year. In each case this will be just for the morning and the children go to their usual classrooms for registration and then we move them after Collective Worship.

On Wednesday 4 July we have arranged for class photographs to be taken. Please ensure your child wears their school uniform. Year 6 will also have individual photos taken for inclusion in a special pack for leavers.

Thank you for collecting the various tokens for the School. We are grateful for your support and can assure you that they will be put to good use!

A reminder about Breakfast Club. It is open every term-time day from 0745-0845 and if you want your child to go you need to contact the Office for a booking form, which should be returned with payment prior to your child attending.

Our Leavers' Service, to be held at St Mary's on Tuesday 17 July at 11am, is for everyone not just leavers, so please put the date in your diary!

The Village Annual Flower Show will take place on Saturday 21 July at the Village Hall. We have spoken to the children in School about this and going to be encouraging them to enter at least one of the sections (we are also hoping that one of the committee will come to the school to show the children what an example of a 'garden on a plate' could actually look like). Please see the schedule below. For more details and an entry form please ask at one of the Bishops Lydeard shops.

Finally I'm sure you will be interested to know that Mary Abel, our Office Manager, will be taking early retirement from the end of August. Mary has held a number of clerical and administrative posts at the School over the last 18 years and has been a real asset to us. Staff and Governors will marking Mary's retirement with a special leaving 'do' and there is also a general collection being taken so we can present her with a suitable gift. If you would like to contribute please let Annette Williams have your donations (in a sealed envelope) by Friday 29 June. Thanks.

Yours sincerely
