Dear Parents

There will be an opportunity for you to come along to talk with your child’s teacher at a Parents Consultation Evening on either Tuesday 01 April or Thursday 03 April between 3.30pm and 7.30pm to see how s(he) is progressing except if your child is in Richard Stead’s class as he may be on paternity leave at this time.  Richard’s appointments will be held during the second week in April and a letter will come home about this at the beginning of next term.  As usual you will be allocated a 10 minute interview but if you feel you need to discuss any topics in greater detail, could you please make another appointment for after school or come and see me.  This arrangement enabled to evening to run smoothly, without the need for anyone having to wait too long.  So that we can fit family appointments near together could you please indicate on the tear off slip at the bottom of this letter, the day and the approximate time you wish to be seen.  We will do our best to accommodate your wishes wherever we can and will notify you of your precise appointment time as soon as possible after Thursday 20 March.

You will be pleased to know that the Life Education Centre will be returning next week to support our Health Education Curriculum.  Each class has an opportunity to enjoy this unique opportunity during the three days that the caravan is with us and there is also a ‘slot’ for parents on Friday 14 March between 2.45 and 3.15pm, we do hope you will take a look.  There is no need to book just turn up!

The School will be moving towards employing its own Caretaker and Cleaning Staff from 01 April, if anyone is interested in one of these posts then please ask at the Office for further details.

You may be interested to know that the School has been awarded the ‘Activemark 2007’.  This has been given to the School due to its commitment to provide good quality PE and Sports opportunities to all its pupils and compliments our Healthy School Status.

Finally, as you are aware the Schoolwear Centre in Taunton now supplies our uniform however we will continue to sell bookbags and PE kit.  The Schoolwear Centre will not be providing gold cardigans/sweatshirts or bottle green polo shirts however if you would like to purchase these we do still have a limited amount of stock in School.
